The Snuggy Bug Body ® Fly Rug  is sure to become a 'must have' in every equine's wardrobe.

Covering poll to tail including full belly coverage it is a headless option pleasing customers who don't wish to cover their horse or pony's face.

Constructed of the same clever fabric as the Sweet Itch Hood and Sweet Itch Rug, the Bug Body Fly Rug is robust yet lightweight and fully breathable, water repellent, stops coat bleaching as well as protecting from midges, other flying/biting insects, dust and dirt. The Bug Body Fly Rug is suitable for horses and ponies with fly or insect sensitivity or allergies as well as mild Sweet Itch sufferers. It will keep you horse cool and comfortable all Summer long.

The Snuggy Bug Body Fly Rug comes as a two piece neck and rug combo for versatility and ease of fitting. The rug part- with built in full belly band, tail wrap and XL flap, is fitted first. The neck piece then slips over the horse's head and is secured to the top and sides of the rug's neck with Velcro leaving no gaps.

The top of the neck sits closely behind the ears even when the horse stretches down to graze and is elasticated, with adjustment, to prevent any insects getting inside. The mane area of the neck is lined with a seamless, silky, non stretch lining to prevent mane rubbing/hair loss.

Small straps are fitted to the withers and chest section of the rug to prevent gaps. The withers and chest areas are padded and elasticated to prevent pressure. Three Velcro patches are fitted to the rug and belly each side to achieve a close Snuggy fit and a strong ant-stretch binding is run along the spine of the Bug Body to keep the rug in shape and prevent it slipping backwards.

Plus there is also the option to add the Sweet Itch Mask with ears and mesh eyes, as well as Front Legs, Sheath Cover or Udder Cover for extra coverage for severe sufferers. These items are purchased separately and need the appropriate attachments sewn on to the Sweet Itch Rug. During a sale/offer or discount period, customers are asked to add the appropriate attachments to their basket. If this is not done, you will receive an attachments pack with instructions leaflet, to enable you to add the necessary attachments yourself.

We recommend the Sweet Itch Mask for the following uses - Sweet Itch prevention & allergy/fly/insect/UV ray protection.

This unique Sweet Itch Mask has built in ears and mesh eyes. It is lined in the mane area behind the ears with a silky fabric and has elasticated adjustment in multiple places for a close, secure fit. The Sweet Itch Mask comes either as a pull on or zipped option for easier fitting.

Constructed of a robust yet lightweight and fully breathable fabric which prevents insects biting, and is also heavy showerproof, stops coat bleaching (harmful UV rays) whilst keeping your horse or pony clean!

The optional zip runs from chin to under the neck. Without a zip the Sweet Itch Mask is 'pull on' so simply slip over the nose and pull backwards into position.

Designed for use with the Bug Body Fly Rug but is suitable for use with any full neck fly rug or summer sheet. Also ideal for use with the Headless Sweet Itch Hood for optional face coverage. The Sweet Itch Mask will attach to the Bug Body neck or Headless Sweet Itch Hood with a metal D-ring and strong velcro loop for security. A velcro loop is included at the top of the neck of both the Bug Body and Headless Hood - this is there to loop through the metal D ring provided with every Mask - for extra security.

A spare Velcro loop is provided so the Sweet Itch Mask can be attached to the neck of an alternative rug for added security. We strongly recommend customers attach the Sweet Itch Mask to a rug neck as instructed in the fitting information sheet. If you need help with this please contact us before using the Mask.

Front Leg Covers are made from the same clever fabric as the Sweet Itch Rug & Bug Body, they cover the front legs  from elbow to just above the knee. These horse leg covers are a clever, unique design protecting the upper part of the foreleg from midges, flies, other biting insects & harmful UV rays. The foreleg can be particularly sensitive especially on the inside where the coat is fine & thin.

Snuggy Front Leg Covers are designed specifically for use with the Sweet Itch Rug or Bug Body. They attach with hook & loop strips/d-rings to outside of the rug on the shoulder area and the inside edge of the Belly Band which sits (and covers) between the front legs.  These horse leg covers have been successfully trialled & used by thousands on customers for over 10 years and are an excellent choice for additional coverage if your horse or pony suffers badly from Sweet Itch or other environment related allergies.

The Front Leg Covers are detachable for ease of fitting and washing so can be used as and when required. They are designed to be a close fit to prevent flies/insects getting up inside but do allow movement of the front leg for comfort and durability. The fabric is fully breathable so cool, yet robust. It does not allow insects to bite through and does filter UV rays.

PLEASE NOTE - The Sweet Itch Rug/Bug Body does not come as standard with the Front Leg attachments. If you already have the  or Bug Body you will need to sew on the provided Front Leg attachments - Front Leg Covers bought alone will arrive complete with an attachment pack including all pieces needed to sew on to your rug and an instruction sheet.  If you don't required this attachment pack (if your rug already has the attachments) please let us know when ordering and we won't send you the extra pack.

The Snuggy Udder Cover offers extra coverage of the udder area for mares. This is a unique product - Snuggy Hoods were the first to offer an 'udder protector', which has been successfully used over the last 10+ years all over the World. The Udder Cover protects the sensitive udder area of mare from flies, midges, other biting insects and harmful UV rays. This is particularly beneficial to mares that suffer from Sweet Itch or other allergies. Many customers also use the Udder Cover to protect sarcoids from flies and also help manage other skin conditions.

The Snuggy Udder Cover has been designed specifically and successfully trialled for use with either the the Sweet Itch Rug or Bug Body. Made from the same clever fabric, this Udder Cover is a separate piece so can be removed for regular washing and attaches to the rug with strong hook & loop fastenings. A Summer essential for those severe sufferers.
