The Snuggy Udder Cover offers extra coverage of the udder area for mares. This is a unique product - Snuggy Hoods were the first to offer an 'udder protector', which has been successfully used over the last 10+ years all over the World. The Udder Cover protects the sensitive udder area of mare from flies, midges, other biting insects and harmful UV rays. This is particularly beneficial to mares that suffer from Sweet Itch or other allergies. Many customers also use the Udder Cover to protect sarcoids from flies and also help manage other skin conditions.

The Snuggy Udder Cover has been designed specifically and successfully trialled for use with either the the Sweet Itch Rug or Bug Body. Made from the same clever fabric, this Udder Cover is a separate piece so can be removed for regular washing and attaches to the rug with strong hook & loop fastenings. A Summer essential for those severe sufferers.

What is Sweet Itch?

Sweet Itch is caused by an allergic reaction to the bites of the Culicoides midge and, to a lesser extent, Simulium Equinum. At present there is no known cure for Sweet Itch. Once an equine develops the allergy it is generally affected every Spring, Summer and Autumn. There are two approaches to improving the comfort of an affected animal: to minimize the allergic reaction with corticosteroids, anti-histamines or soothing lotions or to minimise midge attack using a Sweet Itch Rug. The second method offers the most effective protection and avoids the need to use harsh chemicals, expensive repellents and messy oils or greases. The Snuggy Sweet Itch Rug has been approved by Veterinary professionals for the prevention of the midge bite allergic reaction.

United Kingdom Orders

Orders are dispatched using a 48 hour tracked Royal Mail service. Standard delivery to the UK is charged at £2.95 for smaller parcels and large parcels are charged at £4.95 An Express Shipping option is available for orders of ‘in stock’ items only. Express Shipping is a 24 hours tracked Royal Mail service. The Express Shipping option is available at the checkout. Express delivery to the UK is charged at £6.95 for smaller parcels and £8.95 for larger parcels. Order total will be calculated and shown in your basket and at checkout. If you are unsure or would like a quote prior to ordering please contact us.

Snuggy Hoods aim to dispatch stock items within 3 business days (Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays) after the order was placed, subject to product availability. We will aim to dispatch Made to order items such as Alterations, out of stock items, Sheath and Udder Covers and Made to measure items within 10 days.

Please allow 14 days for delivery of orders placed during clearance sales, special offers or end of season sales as these are very busy periods.

No orders will be dispatched on Saturday or Sunday or Bank Holidays – unless by prior arrangement at extra cost to the customer. You must inform us as soon as possible if your parcel has been delayed or damaged in transit.

Deliveries are normally sent using either Royal Mail or a courier service. A signature will be required on delivery for all couriered packages. If you are not at home when the courier calls, a card will be left with details about how to reschedule your delivery.

European Orders

Standard delivery to the EU is charged at £6.95 for smaller packages. Any medium packages will be charged at a rate of £12.95 (Ireland £9.95). Large packages are charged at £19.95 (Ireland £12.95). Total delivery charge will be calculated and shown in your basket and at checkout. If you would like a quote prior to ordering please contact us.

American & Canadian Orders

Standard delivery to the US/Canada is charged at £7.95 for smaller packages. Any medium packages will be charged at a rate of £15.95. Rest of the World Orders

Standard delivery to the rest of the World is charged at £9.95 for smaller packages. Any medium packages will be charged at a rate of £24.95. RETURNS INFORMATION

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive. Unspoiled goods may be exchanged or refunded if returned within 14 days of ordering along with proof of purchase. To be accepted for refund/exchange goods must be in new condition with all original packaging. A pre-paid Royal Mail returns label is provided for all non-sale items/orders. This Postage label can be supplied to the customer by email or post if required, please call +441225 783399 or email sales@snuggyhoods.com to request. All discounted or sale items/orders are to be returned at the customer’s expense.

Please try to order the correct size and contact us if we can be of any further help with sizing. We do recommend that parcels are sent RECORDED post as no responsibility will be held for parcels lost in transit using our return post label. By purchasing the extra RECORDED option, you will have the guarantee of a signature on arrival at our offices. Refunds will usually be issued back onto the payment method by which you made the initial purchase within 21 days of Snuggy Hoods receiving the item/s back in new condition.
