The Lycra Body Rug helps create a smooth, shiny coat for shows and events, keeping dust, forage and bedding off while encouraging the hair to lie flat.
Made from comfortable, breathable shiny nylon/spandex, it covers the chest, shoulders, body and full belly, with an extra-large tail flap. Wear it alone or beneath another rug in the stable, at shows or during travel.
Flexible coverage and fit
Pair with the Lycra Hood for nose-to-tail coverage, or use with another self-fixing hood.
Our two-piece design lets you use each item separately and choose different hood and rug sizes for a better fit. We prefer this flexibility to an all-in-one suit, which in our experience can pull backwards and create pressure around the face.
Please note
This rug is not water-repellent and will not prevent stains from wet bedding or droppings. For stain protection, choose our water-repellent Sweet Itch or Turn Out ranges.

Designed for a close, snug fit. The stretchy fabric makes sizing generous, so choose the smaller size if your horse or pony is between sizes. Contact us before ordering if you’re unsure.

Bought the lycra body rug, the lycra hood and the matching travel boots as part of my summer show wardrobe as ammunition to keep the boy who loves to stay grubby to remain clean instead. Easy to put on, stays in position and kept him sparkling white. Success!
Bought this rug to try and keep my mud monster grey clean before a show. Some stable stains still got through, but he was mostly clean still in the morning. Rug and hood were true to size (he's a 15.1hh connie in a 6ft rug size, m/l hood and m rug fitted perfectly).
I have a very challenging cob. The night before a show we spend ages getring him clean, only to find the next morning him with stable stains. It didnt matter what rug we put on. Put his snugg stuff on and no stable stains this morning, so hapoy. We had to go medium body and medium to large neck. Fitted superbly.

Excellent customer service from Snuggyhoods. I needed a rug super quick to protect my horse whilst travelling for surgery, and Becky advised on the best one and arranged to get one out next day. Unfortunately the courier service let us down, as they sometimes do, and she very helpfully made arrangements for me to collect one same day, even though she was off for the day. Perfect for my horse and protected her from rubbing in the horsebox. Would definitely recommend the products and the first class service. Thank you very much, it was very much appreciated!
